Financial Policy

We will do our very best to help you maximize the health of your pet while staying in line with what you can afford!

The reality is that financial considerations are an integral component of veterinary care and we at Daniel Webster Animal Hospital want you to feel comfortable discussing that with us.  To help, we will review a cost estimate with you in advance of all surgical procedures or non-routine medical work-ups.  Please keep in mind that an estimate is just that, an estimate of costs and not a hard-and-fast quotation.

It is our philosophy and passion to provide outstanding medical and surgical care.  That means hiring the highest quality employees, constant staff training to keep on top of veterinary medical advancements, and using the finest vaccines, medications, and surgical supplies available.  Outstanding veterinary services can be costly.  Because of this, the following financial policy applies:

Anything routine (health assessment exams, scheduled surgeries, rechecks, vaccinations, grooming, day care, prescriptions, food, over-the-counter products, specialist fees, second opinions, blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, nurse appointments) must be paid for at the time that the services are rendered.

The only exceptions are emergencies.  All emergencies will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Credit Policy for Emergencies

  1. Payment is due at the time of service.
  2. We reserve the right to extend credit.
  3. Prior to extending credit, a credit agreement must be agreed to and signed by all interested parties.
  4. The credit agreement will consist of responsible party info, including a social security number. The agreement will arrange for payment of 50% of the outstanding balance at release of patient from the hospital. The remaining balance will be paid bi-weekly with the balance completely paid within 90 days.
  5. Bills are considered delinquent after 90 days.
  6. A bill over 120 days will terminate any charging privileges by that client indefinitely.
  7. Declaration of bankruptcy and subsequent default of any portion of a bill will terminate charging privileges indefinitely.
  8. Bills turned over to a collector will terminate charging privileges by that client indefinitely.
  9. Emergency cases for clients with delinquent accounts will be taken only after arrangements for payment IN FULL are made.
  10. Non-emergency services/treatments will be done AFTER delinquent account is paid IN FULL.

Credit Exception Policy

The usual policy of Daniel Webster Animal Hospital is payment in full at the time services are rendered.

We want your pet to receive the care it needs and realize that major illnesses or surgeries may make it difficult or impossible to pay in full.  In these situations, we are willing to extend credit to our good clients under the following terms:

  1. A credit agreement must be completed and signed.
  2. Specialist fees cannot be charged.
  3. At least half of a non-specialist surgery must be paid at the time of the release and the balance paid within three months.
  4. Until the total charge is paid in full, any additional services or products for any pet must be paid in full at the time they are rendered.
