Traffic Delays to DWAH

The initial preparation work for a new 95 ft wide, 200 ft long bridge on South River Road between Target and DWAH has begun. The contractors will be blasting ledge and placing base material between now and March 2012. It is expected that there will be 12 minute traffic delays during the actual blasting process. Please keep this in mind if you are traveling to DWAH.

An alternate route is for clients to get onto the Everett Turnpike and take the new Manchester Airport Access Rd which will bring you South of the hospital, just over the Merrimack border. You can then take a left turn and head North on Route 3 to DWAH.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this bridge construction. We anticipate it will be a lengthy process continuing through 2012.

5 Steps to a Longer, Healthier Life for Your Pet

1)   Preventive Medicine

Vaccine and deworming recommendations are individualized to the lifestyle of the specific pet; where they go and who they meet helps us determine what we need to protect them from.

2)   Proper Nutrition

Lots of debate and tons of choices!  Look for the AAFCO certification on the package;  this means the food has been tested and meets nutritional standards and is proven for a specific life stage of your pet (puppy/kitten, adult, senior). Beyond that, does your pet like the food?  Are the stools appropriate?  Is the coat quality good?

3)   Exercise

Dogs and cats need exercise on a regular basis!  A good romp outdoors with your dog or playing indoor “laser tag” with your cat, helps curb unwanted behaviors, stimulates mental development and enhances the bond between you and your pet.

4)   Weight Control

Studies have proven that pets maintained at a proper weight will live a longer, healthier life… what other incentive do you need?  The general Rule of Thumb is that with a light pressure you should be able to feel individual ribs as you run your fingers on the side of your pet’s chest.

5)   Dental Health

As veterinary medicine has advanced, we’ve seen the correlation between dental disease and other systemic disease processes.  Prevention and early intervention are key principles in dental health.  In this day and age, there is an endless selection of products to aid in this endeavor.
